A MEETING ON HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING
On Nov 28, 2018, Italo Lisi, Chief Inofrmation Officer of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, and EMbeDS hosted a meeting with representatives of Nvidia -- one of the major AI companies worldwide.
The meeting was well attended by researchers, faculty and students from different scientific areas and institutions in the local academic community (the Sant'Anna School, the Scuola Normale Superiore, UniPi, CNR, etc.). All attendees shared an interest in Big Data analysis and in EMbeDS' plans for the advancement of high-performance computing.
The main topic discussed at the meeting was a potential partnership aimed at creating a permanent training platform, and collaboration venues, for the use of GPU (graphical processing units) technologies in various scientific applications.
